Anna Nicholl MS has welcomed the Welsh Government's broad ambition to strengthen rural resilience and sustainability, but has warned that farmers and local communities need to be involved in designing the detail to make sure policies work in practice – across agriculture, the food system and the wider rural economy.

Following the news that Bute Energy has withdrawn its plan to erect the Nant Ceiment Windfarm above Pencarreg, near Lampeter, Elin Jones MS is now calling on Green Gen to withdraw its plan for a Teifi Valley Steel Pylon Network.

Elin Jones and Mabon ap Gwynfor Plaid Cymru’s Shadow Health Minister have united to jointly pledge that Bronglais becomes a Hospital of Rural Excellence. The hospital has faced wave after wave of downgrading proposals over the years, the latest of which is the option to downgrade the Stroke Unit. 

Elin Jones MS has welcomed the fact that both original stroke consultation options were rejected by the Health Board at its meeting this morning. However, an alternative option is now likely to be proposed. 

On Stroke Prevention Day, Elin Jones MS and Ben Lake MP are calling on Hywel Dda Health Board to reject the treat and transfer option offered for Bronglais stroke services.
